The many and Dangerous Health Effects of Obesity

It is rather common knowledge that being obese is a dangerous condition for your general health. The health costs of excessive weight in 2010 for the US is enormous and is more than 100 billion dollars per annum. You can put the multi-billion dollar a year amount that is expended each year for diet related merchandise. So there is apparently a battle that is being waged for our health. What is also very well known are the many unhealthy foods and liquids a lot of people consume. The primary issue with a lot of foods and drinks is they have poor varieties of fat and are packed with sugar. We only have room to cover several of the hazards due to obesity.

Type 2 diabetes as a result of obesity has been escalating at an alarming rate in recent years. What is becoming even more scary is the soaring chance of this condition in younger people who are also seriously overweight. The severely obese person can be at higher risk for joint problems such as osteoarthritis. Patients with excessive weight problems will not always make for the best candidates for man-made joints. However, the very best success occur when there is no obese problem in these patients. But for many who could reap the benefits of it yet are obese, this is simply not always recommended. At the very least it’s rather a risky procedure because the heavy weight on the synthetic joint can cause complications. High blood pressure is a common occurance among those that are obese. The problem with having so much weight is it severely strains the entire body. The basis for this as it relates to the cardiovascular system is the extra fat tissue still requires blood for nutrients and oxygen. So that in turn causes the heart to work much harder so it can deliver what is necessary. The high blood pressure is merely a result of this additional demand caused by the extra weight. There can also be an increase in the pulse rate as it works in response to all that requirement.

It is extremely obvious that obesity is a problem that severely impacts all functions of the body. These are merely some of the secondary effects taken from a long list of medical conditions resulting from severe weight gain.
