work in the beautiful studio
Today I will speak mainly work with acrylic paints. Now, I would say that the acrylic oils are very similar – at least in the way I like their implementation and in the final outcome, I want to achieve. I know it can be applied more like watercolors, too, but that’s not how I prefer to use. I say what I like most acrylic is also what I dislike. They dry very quickly and because patience is not one of my virtues, which is what I like about them. However, on hot days, or if you want to paint outside, very dry too quickly. But I keep a spray bottle of water handy to wet their palette and have discovered that some of the ways that you can buy slow drying time, too. Also, I like the look of the half-brightness added to paints in most situations. Over the past two years, I started using one of the “stay wet palette that can be bought in most art supply stores or catalogs, and they really work in the beautiful studio to extend the life of Acrylic already have on your palette.
I do not buy any brand of acrylic paint on the other, but prefers certain colors in one brand over another. For example, in Liquitex Sap Green Sap Green is very different from the trademark Dick Blick. I do not know why. I usually do not encourage students to any brand of paint, though. I like working with a limited palette, mixing my own colors, from a sub-layer and use the color wheel to decide the colors of my paintings. I think all these will make wonderful starting points for arguments in the future.
Regarding the fields of painting to do, I like to experiment here too. I tried many different types of fabric, plaster and sometimes myself, even if it says its already been done. I love portrait painting can better, especially when I am the people, because it is much easier. I also like the paint on hardboard covered with gesso and Pastelbord, who recently became a personal favorite of mine! It is a surface rather unusual, but what really acrylic painters should try if you have not already!
